Brief:

This client engaged Pea Consultancy having purchased a new VLE. There was a requirement for expert handling of both the migration of data from legacy systems, as well as setting up the new VLE and managing that change. Once the technical work was complete, the staff required training on the new system.

Overhaul of VLE; data migration; change management; staff training

Approach:
Assist in the creation of a project road map including:

  • Data Cleanse
  • Data Migration
  • Content set up
  • Training

At every stage we worked with key stakeholders both within our client’s business, and their key clients; ensuring the appropriate content was set up in correctly for the relevant stakeholders. This also allowed for a tailored approach when creating and delivering training.

Three levels of training were offered:

  • General Navigation training for end users of the VLE who were using it for CPD purposes. Including aspects such as general navigation, how to see any assigned tasks, and how to access any provided feedback.
  • Administrative Training aimed at users who would be creating content and assigning testing to end users. This training also included aspects such as how to access MI and create automated reports on user engagement.
  • Super Admin Training training offered to a very small portion of users designed to allow them to troubleshoot the system, and provide first line support to their user hierarchy.

In addition to the training carried out, we assisted in the creation of process documentation and provided ongoing support while users were becoming familiar with the system. Our client feedback indicated not only overall satisfaction but an increase in contract retentions, and a 25% increase in user engagement across the platform.


Brief:
Create and deliver comprehensive training programme for 200+ staff at a multi-site vocational college.

Approach:
Remote and face-to-face training created to ensure maximum uptake across sites and avoid timetabling restrictions. Sessions covered new tools released on the college’s chosen VLE, including VLE specific tool “Learning Pathways”.

  • How to set up a Learning Pathway
  • The benefits of a Learning Pathway for a learner
  • The benefits of a Learning Pathway for a teacher
  • When to use a Learning Pathway
  • Considerations when setting a Learning Pathway
  • The data/reporting of the tool
  • Assistance in authoring the best practice guidelines

Staff trained within scheduled delivery, with recordings provided for guidance and reflection. Increased uptake in usage across VLE, staff members also reported ease of implementation of new tool in established content.
